SPEAKER_01

I would like to say welcome to all of you who are joining this event and thank you so much for joining with us today. And we're very happy to have this session together with Ms. Fika from ECAS, where we'll be mainly talking about the topics that all of you are curious about, including admissions and then also the available programs at ECAS. But also most importantly, we'll be discussing CSEA, the China Scholastic Competency Assessment, as a new requirement for applying to undergraduate programs at Chinese universities, including at ECAS, and what it's really like to study in China, especially in Shanghai, where ECAS is based. So we know that choosing a university is a big decision. And for many, many students, studying in China may still feel something like unfamiliar or something new. So we meant for today's conversation to be relaxed, to be honest and helpful, where it is going to be a chance for you to get to know ICAS better as a place, as a perfect place for your studies, and also to understand the application journey. And you can hear more about the experiences beyond just uh what's informed in the websites or brochures and etc. Because today you'll have a chance to hear the information directly from Miss Vika from ECAS. So, yeah, we'll begin the interview today. And thank you again for Miss Vika for being with us today, for being with me, Nadia, and also Alifia from Channel Missions. For students and also parents who are joining this event today, and maybe this is the first time for them to hear about ECAS. How would you describe ECAS in a simple and relatable way?

SPEAKER_02

So, first, eCAST is a national university, it's a Chinese national university. It's located in Shanghai. So, first above the location of ECAST. And secondly, eCast is university which provides programs, different programs from international students from the foundation pre-university program, undergraduate master program to PhD programs. So our international students can find a suitable program at e-Cost. I think the third point about ECAST, I think e-Cost is also called as the cradle of Chinese Chemical Engineers. We are the first university in China that got the ABT aggregation in the chemical engineering area in China. So if you decide to, if you are interested in the engineering majors, ECAS is a perfect choice for you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, of course. I've heard about the excellent chemical engineering program at ECAS, but what what are the things that you think makes ECAS also stand out as a university in Shanghai? Because of course in Shanghai there's so many universities, right? So what makes uh ECAS uh stand out as a university for international students in Shanghai?

SPEAKER_02

I would like to say that uh at ECAST we have innovative program, which is the joint multi-degree program, GMD program. And you can see the name. Yeah. That's joint multi-degree program. And currently we are the first university and the only university in China that provides this program, the multi-degree program for international students. And it's a bachelor's program plus master's program. It's a three-year bachelor's program. And usually in China, the bachelor's program usually four years. It takes four years to get a bachelor's degree. But through the GD program, it only takes three years to get the bachelor's degree. And currently we are the only university that provides this program, this first education pathway for international students. And after getting the bachelor's degree, so the G ⁇ program, our international students can continue to apply for a master's program at one of our pattern universities, for example, in the University of York in UK. And uh it only takes one year for students to get the master's program. So that's why we call it Joint Multi-degree Program. Yes, we cooperate with the UK-Australia universities, and uh it provides the it uh provides the international student the chance to get two bachelor's degrees from China, from UK Australia, and also get the master degree in just one year. So I think it makes ECAS stands out of other universities. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think it's an it's an amazing program and opportunity for international students. Definitely, you know, just being able to get your bachelor's degree in three years, it's it's a huge benefit. Yeah. And then before we go further to the like discussing about the programs at ECAS and et cetera, so I would like to know more about your perspective in terms of China or Shanghai as a study destination. Because a lot of students, when they choose where they want to study, they still compare China with other study destinations. Let's say one of the top ones, maybe the big four, like US, UK, Canada, Australia, or other destinations. But from your perspective, why should international students now consider studying in China?

SPEAKER_02

I think that China is developing quite fast now, and then especially in the AI in the STEM areas, and Shanghai is now the International Center of Economics, Science Innovation, and the international fashion capital, and Shanghai and China, especially Shanghai, and a big beijing and uh Beijing, also the capital of China, yes. So Shanghai is a city full of opportunities in science, in the economies, in the fashion areas. So and also China, Shanghai is Shanghai, China is one of the safest cities in the world, I think. So parents don't need to worry about it. I think these are the reasons for international students to choose to study in China in Shanghai.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, definitely. I think safety is also one of the uh important factors, especially for parents, right? They want the the best for their students, but being away from their kids, meaning they have to make sure that the city where they study is a safe place to study. And you talk about uh opportunities of, you know, for students to be in Shanghai. So what kind of opportunities do you think students can expect from living in a major city like Shanghai, especially during their studies and maybe for their future after graduation?

SPEAKER_02

I think that because Shanghai is uh now an international center, so many good many famous companies they have offices in Shanghai. So I think starting in Shanghai means means many opportunities for many internet internship opportunities and job opportunities for for international students. And also Shanghai, there are many cultural events in Shanghai. So students in our international students, students have a deeper understanding of current Chinese culture. Yes, and also Shanghai is very international. There are there are English signs everywhere, and it's very welcoming. So our international students can get adapted to to the life and study in Shanghai very quickly. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and talking about adapting to a new place, especially for new students coming to ICAS, coming to study overseas for the first time, how easy it is, do you think for them to adapt to their new life in Shanghai? Maybe for the ICA students, how is the adaptation process in the beginning? Like what kind of support will the university give? Maybe during the registrations? Because uh in the first month, I think it's tough. I mean, me myself, when I first came to China, I got so stressed in the first month, it's so overwhelming. But yeah, how do you think international students will adapt to their life in Shanghai?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, good question. And also our new students, all the applicants, they ask they ask us frequently. And what what our university, what e-cost to do to help our students to get adapted to Shanghai to e-cost. So after students get admitted during the summer vacation before they arrive at arrive in Shanghai, we send our new students, the campus lifeguard, the tips for new students to let them prepare in advance, for example, what uh what they should what documents they should bring to China and what courses uh they should wear. They usually wear in China, in Shanghai, and uh the how to order food in the tenting. Send them send the campus life guide during the summer vacation before they arrive so they can prepare the months. Arriving in Shanghai, after arriving at campus, there will be orientation week. And during the orientation week, we will have the opening ceremony, we will have the icebreaking party for the new students so they can make friends with each other, and there will be our senior students. They will share their experience, the life experience in Shanghai at class. And also our teachers will waiting to help. So I think that's what we really do to help our students get adapted to e-cast to Shanghai.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, that's a wonderful support from the university. I think it's very much needed, especially if you know it's their first time coming to China. Everything's so overwhelming. It's like you have to deal with so many things all at once. All right. I think for the next part, we will be talking about the mainly study environment at ECAS, and also about CSEA and programs at ECAS. And for this section, my colleague Alifia will help her take over.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, thank you, Nadia. And yeah, hi, Miss Vika. Basically, I spoke with many students that international students they express themselves that they're really interested to study in China and then they really want to know more about ICAS. So basically, what makes it really concerned for the international students, they really want to know about the student activities, study environment, and everything. So maybe you can share with us the experience study in ICAS and beyond academic, how to describe the learning atmospheres at ECAS.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. So for the Chinese students, basically all the Chinese students know that ECAST is famous for the for the study's atmosphere. It's called in Chinese we call it, means study at e-cost. In my opinion, that e-cost students, they are all hard very hardworking. And also our professors, we they are they are they are willing to talk with our international students. So I think the study atmosphere is good at e-cost, especially for the GNE program. We know that students choose to study in China. We want to study a learn more from the Chinese univers from the from the Chinese professors, but at e-cost through the GNE program, we also provide the students the access to the online courses delivered by the overseas, by our overseas partner universities. So I think the regarding the study environments, our students they are hardworking, and our professors they are always willing to provide support to help our students with the study difficulties. And besides, we provide the students, even they start studying at ECAS in Shanghai, studying in China, we provide them with the online resources to the overseas universities.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I see. So it's really supportive and collaborative. So, guys, don't worry. When you go to ECAS, definitely it's easy for you to make friends and also talk with the faculty members. Because you mentioned earlier, so when students arrive in the university, there will be like welcoming party, like welcoming party, and then they will get campus story, some information as a freshman and everything. So, yeah, maybe you can elaborate more what kind of support that ICAS offered to the international students when they first begin their studies. Maybe there is also like like trying to know some activities to understand about the Chinese culture, or maybe Shanghai, or maybe there will be a field trip to understand about the situation, so they're not gonna feel in shock when the first time they arrive.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. So speaking of the activities we organize, for example, we we took we take our new students to the Sehi Tours, just like you said. We take them to take Southway in Shanghai. Many, not many, sub students, they maybe it's the first time for them to come to Shanghai. They don't know how to take the the subway, how to take the sunway and then how to take the bus in Shanghai. So we take them for the to the city tours and we we teach our students, we tell them how to take subway, how to order taxi, how to take the bus in Shanghai. So the city tours is uh an activity we organize. And also the future, we take our students to visit the companies to let them know the real the real working, real working environment in in Shanghai in China. We take them to visit companies and uh so it's uh it's called future. And also we organize the icebreaking event to let them make friends with with each other. The also, so the cultural, the Chinese cultural, we also organize the the Chinese cultural workshop. For example, for example, what culture? There are too many workshops, the Chinese cultural workshops. I just suddenly forgotten the name. But we we we organize a series of the Chinese cultural workshops and we invite the the professors, the the teachers to for example, we we before we took our student to the country and they learned how to cook the Chinese traditional Chinese.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's amazing.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, that that's amazing, that's interesting, because after they cook the Chinese food by themselves, they can they can eat directly in the country. So it's it's a very really interesting event. So cultural, transculture workshops to help them have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. Yes, I think also at Ika's away there is international student basketball club and the football club, and we are organizing tennis club now. So, and there are tennis course and the playground at the campus, so they can play play the tennis, play basketball together. So, and also the Dragon Bolt race every year, and also the International Cultural Festival every year. So I think there are a variety, a variety of activities that our students can join.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's really amazing. So for all of the students, don't be don't be worried, just go there, and then there will be a lot of assistance that you can learn and then enjoy, and then they will help you showing around and everything. And then there's also many student activities, as you mentioned earlier, like basketball, sports club, tennis, football, and everything. Or maybe there is also cultural activities for the international students that usually they most join. Maybe there will be cultural events. Yeah. What do students and parents often worry before they joining ECAS? And what would you say to raise them?

SPEAKER_02

I think for the parents, I remember that one parent asked me before that they are worried that their children, their their kids couldn't get up earlier to attend class. For most of the parents, they are worried that their children could not become independent. Because they maybe it's the first time for their kids to start in a different country and they used to wake them off to go to class, to go to school. So they are worried that their children couldn't become independent to solve problems by themselves. So what I can really say to make them not too much worry about that. I say that at ECOS, there is a student affairs office. The teachers of the office will have students with the study and life at campus. And also we have the senior students, we have the student ambassadors from different countries. So we will try our best to help your children, to help the students get adapted to the and also we will we we not only care about the grades of students, we also care about their uh well-being. So we will try our best to teach our students to become independent. So we we need to have more how to say that more confidence for our e-consti teachers for our for us. We will try our best to teach students to become more independent. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So don't worry, just contact your teacher and then the teachers will really help to support you. Okay, next question. We're gonna talk about the CSCA entrance exam test. This is really, really like the information when the news comes out, like a lot of students shock, like, oh my god, there will be like the CSCA exam entrance test. So we're gonna discuss about the requirements. Yeah, we understand that the CSCA is becoming a new requirement. Could you please explain CSCA is in a simple way for students and parents who are not familiar with that?

SPEAKER_02

I think CICA is like the ICAT for the American universities. It's a China, it's a Chinese standardized test for the students who wish to apply for the undergraduate program. So it just it's just a standardized test that you need to attend to enter to apply for the Chinese universities for the undergraduate.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, some students think of the CSEA as something difficult, stressful. Do you have any tips how students can best prepare for the CSCA?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, we understand that my students and my parents are worried about the test, worry about the exam because they think it will be very difficult. So we our university ecos, we already updated the online courses, online CIC preparation courses, and we have updated the information on our website. So you just need to Google it. I think you can see the information on the website. So we probably offered the online CIC preparation courses for our students to prepare for the CSA exam. And also the CSA exam is not very is not much difficult that you may think. It's just a test to to help our universities to help us understand the foundational knowledge level of our applicants. So don't need to worry too much about the exam. Just make sure that you register for the exam and attend for the CSA on time. Don't miss the CSA test. Otherwise, you will not be able to study in China.

SPEAKER_00

I see. So this is really mandatory. Relax, trying to understand the syllabus and then read the curriculum and do the practices like that. Okay, but yeah, does ECAS provide any free guides for international students to prepare CSA?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, the online courses are free for the yes for our ECAS applicants. We we invite the professors from our universities and we we design the online CSA preparation courses, and it it will help our students, it will help our applicants to prepare CSA in math, in physics, in chemistry, and also in the CSA preparation courses, we in the first we introduce our applicant. We introduce to the students what is CICA, how to register for CICA, and what subjects you need to attend for the application. So first there will be introduction about CICA and then the lectures in physics, in chemistry, in math to help our applicants to prepare for the test. And the courses are free for our e-commerce. Applicants.

SPEAKER_00

That's really amazing, guys. So just check on the ECAS official website. Everything is there. You just need to check and then depends what major that you will to apply, and then you can apply, and after that, there will be some training mock-up tests that you can also enjoy with that. Okay, so the next question we're gonna discuss about the programs at the ECAS pre-university and JMD for especially for a bachelor's degree, because a lot of students they see that this is really interesting because GMD or bachelor programs they have like dual degree program or maybe three years program. So, but before we go there, maybe we will discuss about the pre-university program. So, could you introduce the pre-university program and explain who it's designed for and how this program will prepare students for CSEA?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, we do have a pre-university program, and I think it's a like a bridge program for international students. It's designed for the students who wish to study in China, but they think that they are they need to strengthen their Chinese language or they they want to study for a more difficult major and they need to learn more about study more about the science science information for about they need still need to study more about the math, physics, uh physics, chemistry. Yes, so I think the priority is a program that can help students prepare for CIC, help help students find the suitable university, suitable city, yeah, yes, for the degree program. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I see. Some students also asking, like, oh, I think my grades during high school is not really good, and then I want to take like pre-university program first before entering uh or before joining the bachelor's degree. It will be really helpful for them if, for example, if they think that oh my grades is not really good, and then after joining the pre-university, if there's any change for them to get admitted for the bachelor's degree at ICUS?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, for the for our uh if you study with us first as a pre-university student, and then you decide to apply for the undergraduate program, we we do have a special scholarship for these students. 10% refund of the GMD tuition fee for the first year. So, yes, it's uh we call it ECAS Illuminati uh program. Yes, that's a this it's like a discount we provide for our pre-university students. Also, if you study with us for the pre-university program, you can have many chances to talk with our current undergraduate students, and you talk with our admissions team directly in our office, and I think it helps the students with the application, I think.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's really amazing. So a lot of benefits. The benefits is you can learn to strengthen your application before joining bachelor's degree, you will learn with the ecos curriculum earlier, and then there will be special discounts as well. Maybe yeah, it will be build some confidence and also prepare the student before joining bachelor's degree, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay, because they already got adapted to the campus, to the teaching style of ecos, I think. Yeah. I see. That's amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Could you introduce the JMD or bachelor programs available for international students? And yeah, maybe you can also explain about this. Yeah, if you want to share some screen or maybe easier way to explain so we can understand about the GMD program or bachelor program, please.

SPEAKER_02

So let me first share with you the website. This is the GMD official website. And if you click here, you can check all the, for example, YGMD and the e-cast rankings and also our partner universities. And you can if you click here, you can check all the available programs in the GND program. We have six, currently we have the six English taught majors, and we have these two trans taught majors, and it's all three-year bachelor's program. And if you click here, you can check the application information, the fees, the scholarships, and the application process. And you can click here, you can check the CSCA online process for our future e-CAS students. For the ECAS applicants, you can see the lectures here. If you click here, you can see more news about ECAS, about our G program. For example, it's G ⁇ D Management Committee Review meeting last year, last semester, and our vice president, ECAS vice president and the deans of different academic schools, they just reviewed the G program. We reported the feedbacks about our G ⁇ D students, and we they just had a meeting and see what we can do further to improve the G ⁇ D program. And let's see what is G. So just I introduced at the beginning, we have two options for the students. The first is the single degree pathway, which means all the three years will be spent at e-cost. And uh after graduation, students can get one bachelor's degree, and the second pathway is called the due degree pathway, which means the first two years will be at e-cost, and the third year will be at one of our partner university. And after three years, students can get two bachelor's degrees. So there are two options for students, and after getting the bachelor's degree, if students still wish to study for the master's program, they can continue to apply for the master's program at our Partner University. So in four years, students can get at most two bachelor's degrees and one master's degree. That's why we call it multi-degree program. So, why this program? You can already see the key advantage, you can already understand the key advantages of this program. It's very time and cost-efficient, and also it provides the students a multicultural environment for students. And even our even if our students choose the single degree pathway, they still have the chance to get access to the overseas university's teaching resources. And the stronger we have the special activities, especially for our GNE students, to help our GME students to prepare for the future work. For them, for example, the the we have not updated the information, but uh, for example, we we take our student Gen student to visit more companies to the company visits, and we invite the industry leaders to deliver the lectures for our Gen E students to help them have a deeper understanding about the Chinese companies to help them become work-ready in China. So this is why choose Gen Z. And then you can, if you click here, you can see the, for example, if you click here, you can see the online, you can see the overseas teaching resources. We provide it for our GE students. It's a course designed for the for the BC, for the international economists and three students. You can see the introduction and the course is free for the G students. We cover the fees for for these online courses, and you can see the graduation information, the degree comfort information, and the course arrangement by each semester. And if you click here, you can see for the due degree pathway for the third year. Students can study at which university and uh they which major they can choose. And here you can see the partner university's information. For example, the University of York. You can see the rankings, the tuition fees, and the available uh programs at their university. So you just uh uh if you you can see the tuition fees for uh for the you for the University of York. Just imagine that if you want to get their bachelor's degree, you have to study at their university for three years. Just imagine that how how much you will spend to get their bachelor's degree. But through through G ⁇ D program, you only need to spend one year at that university. So you just have to spend it's much less than you simply choose the University of York. So that's why we we see that YG ⁇ D is really not just uh time efficient, but cost efficient. Yes, I think it's some information I would like to see about the GND program. And uh I think the information on our website is already quite clear. And if you have any questions, just send us an email and we'll we check every working day and we will get back to you very soon. Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So, guys, don't worry if you have a question, feel free to check on the ECAS official website, and yeah, you can prepare also your applications to the ECAS. Okay, we're gonna discuss for the next questions. Of course, like now, some students preparing their application, so they also want to know what kind of students are the best fit to J and D or Bachelor Pathway.

SPEAKER_02

I think the students will, GME students, we would love to see not just the students with eye talent with good grades. We will we would love to see the their engagement in the volunteer works, in the social activities, in the competitions. I think just show us your personality, show your special talents. We would love to see this student. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So be confident, show your talents during entropy sessions, be brave.

SPEAKER_02

Also, I think I think for the GD program, I understand that the tuition fee of the GD program may be a little bit higher than the other your the transitional bachelor's program, but it's a three-year program. So it's a perfect program for those students who who wish to maximize the value of their education in a short short time because it's just three years. It's a three-year program. And we will and I think if you I think uh for the students, we we do have the budget for the GMD applicants, but we but we prefer that you choose G program, not not not only to get the scholarship, but you choose G program because that you see the development potential of this program, and also you see the the development potential through this program. Yes. Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So you already talked about the tuition fees. So maybe they're also curious how about the accommodation fees and living costs, maybe lifting expenses in Shanghai.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I will also show you the information. It's very clear. So for the accommodation, we provide the single rooms for our students. So one student, one room. You can see the pictures here, and you can see the down fees information. At ICAS, we are basically located in the center of Shanghai. So the price is I think it's it's affordable. It's not that much because it's single room for students, the down fee information, and also the tuition fee information is here. Now also the estimated fees for the study and life. I think it's the life at Shanghai, it's really the the cost of studying in Shanghai really depends on students. It could be very expensive and it could also be affordable. So it depends, but it's the it's the don't feast and the chutin fees for EPAS.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, thank you so much, Miss Pika. Next we're gonna talk about the admission process, outcome values, and real experience. And yeah, we'll the discussion will be lead with Nadia. Hi, Miss Pika.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, thank you so much. It's been wonderful hearing especially the CSCA preparations that ECAS is preparing for the applicants to ECAS. I think that's is definitely really, really helpful because a lot of students they are worried about the CSCA itself. And then on top of that, they have to think about the admissions process that they have to go through when they apply to universities like ECAS. So maybe can you go through the application process? So, what is the application process at ICAS look like? Will there be like online interviews for students or any additional exams besides CSEA that they have to take?

SPEAKER_02

So the application application process is quite simple. You just need to prepare the prepare the application documents. And after you prepare the application documents, just submit the documents in our application portal. And uh here is uh so prepare the application documents, submit the documents online, and then you just need to wait for our for the emails. We will tell you what you still need to do. Regarding the interview, we only organize the academic interviews for the scholarship evidence. So if you apply for the scholarships, send it the academic, academic interview zoom information to you. The for the exam, students only need to attend the CICA exam. So it's quite simple. Just to prepare the documents, attend 10 CICA is that submit your documents online and just wait for hours for the emails. We will tell you what you still want to do.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's pretty straightforward and pretty simple, especially, you know, a lot of universities, it has a lot of complicated process and extra steps. I think this is pretty simple to do. But uh anyway, from your experience, because you've handled and you've seen a lot of applications going to ECAS, what do you think are some of the most common mistakes students make during the application process? And what advice would you give for students to make their application stronger?

SPEAKER_02

I think the most common mistake is that missing the deadline. Because last year, after we already finished the application process and we already started sending the Campus Love guide to our new students, the chat groups for new students, and they are still we are still receiving emails about it to ask can I still apply for the e-cast? Can I still apply for the GNE program? I know that the dialogue already passed. So I think one of the common mistakes that is that missing the application deadline. So please, please start now, start early. And because if you submit your application earlier, and if you still miss some application documents, or if there are any mistakes in your application documents, we will tell you so that you still have time to prepare for the for the application. For example, some students they they have not attended the CSA exam and they have submitted their application. So after we receive their application, we will tell them, we will send them emails and tell them you have to attend the CSA exam. And we have a preparation courses. We will send you the link to help you prepare for the exam. So they have still have time to submit the missing documents. So my advice is that please start preparing preparing for the application so that you still have you have more time to to to think for to make it even for the offer, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. It's always so much better to start earlier, right? So if ever something is like you need to do any additional step or additional documents, you always have time for it. Like you don't have to, you know, do everything in such a rust because I think it's just adding more stress to your daily activity. Anyway, also uh now talking about the value and also the outcomes that ECAS want for their students. So looking at the bigger picture, what kind of outcome do you hope for international students to gain after they complete their studies and during their time at ECAS?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, we want our students to leave university, not just to with a degree, with a bachelor's degree. We wish them, we want them to have a global mindset. We hope them to have a network of friends from all over the world because we have students from from many countries, just like to say many students. I saw that many students from Russia, from Malaysia, from Indonesia, from many countries. So we hope them to graduate from ECAST with uh not only with a degree but with a global message, with uh with the courage to solve problems independently and uh also with network of friends from all over from all over the world.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, definitely. I think it's getting more and more important nowadays to have like to build like a global network. And then uh we know that you know a lot like some students they take quite some time to choose where they want to study. Maybe they're still undecided or they are still choosing between several universities in China. What do you think they should consider? What do you think they should look at beyond just the university rankings?

SPEAKER_02

I think design beyond the university rankings, students should also check the location of a university and the student, the real student experience and also the major curriculum, the cost arrangement, for example, because you some students they may, for example, they want study, they are interested in a major, they are interested in a university, but so they just simply apply for the university, apply for the major. But after getting admitted, after they start their study, they feel that it's not the major that they are really want. So we we do receive the applications from other university students. They quit their study, they quit their bachelor's study there, and they decide to transfer, they decide to apply for our university because they are not interested in the major and they are not, they don't like the study, the atmosphere of the university there. So there are many famous universities in in the world, in China and Shanghai. I think you need to find a university, you need to find a program, a major that you yourself, you like most. So I think it's the most important.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I completely agree with that. I think when I was doing my bachelor's degree a long, long time ago, it hit me as well. Like, you know, in the middle of my studies, I started to contemplate is this the right major for me, right? Yeah. So really it's so it's something that we have to think thoroughly before we hit the apply button to the university. Okay, one final question for me before we jump to the questions from the audience, because I see some of the audience they left some questions. I think we have like time to maybe discuss three of their questions. But anyway, one final question for me is just a final message for the future students joining today and also those who will watch the recording online. So, what would you say about studying at ECAS and what would you encourage them?

SPEAKER_02

I think I would just say that if you have time, and if you are in Shanghai or if you are in China, just come to see our campus. Come to talk with our teachers, with our ordinations team, with our current students, and come to see our dormitories, see the classrooms, and see if you like this university and like the atmosphere. Because there are many news, many social, many videos about our university, about the about the GNE program, about but you need to see yourself and also you you need to learn by yourself and to decide if this is the university you like. We don't we don't want I think it's uh the application is uh is that you you select your a university and also we are select selecting the students and the most important is that we select the the students, the right students to our right majors. So I think if you have chance, you have time to come to see our campus, you are welcome to visit us and we really look forward to seeing you at our campus in Shanghai. I think the campus, I'll campus, is quite beautiful. It's like a like a mini park in Shanghai. So just uh yeah. So I really look forward to seeing more students at our campus. Some videos made by our students you can see from different countries and the few trips to other cities and the Shanghai city tour and also the day as I student. You can check the videos and also you can see the videos. We have the Russian-speaking videos. Also, I can speak Russian language, and that's why my English name is called Vika. I personally I hope there will be more students from the Russian-speaking countries. Also, we have, for example, students from Georgia, from UAE, from Saudi, and also from Indonesia. So that today we have students from Jakarta. I also visited Jakarta and I really and also the Swabaya and also the Promo, the volcano. So if you have time, come to see, come to visit us. If you don't have time, see more videos, see more news about our university. And if you have any questions, just feel free to ask. I hope that you can find the university that you like best and you you can find a major that you like best. It's the most important.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, definitely. Thank you so much, Miss Faker. Yeah, we have so many questions on our QA box. And then yeah, maybe we can also answer it. Okay, first question. Join multi-degree program means it's two years program in ECAS. And at one year outside China, two plus one years with dual degree. Is it correct?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it means the fourth two years at ECOS, and the third year, the last year at UK or Australia Partner Universities, and after three years, get two bachelor's degrees. One from China, one from UK Australia.

SPEAKER_00

That's amazing. Next question. I currently preparing for my final high school exam, and the result will be out in October. And can preparing for other exams don't have much time. And the program starts September. What should I do now? I don't want to waste the year.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, let me check the so you will receive the final grades in October. So I think you could not apply for the for this tech. You can apply next year, I think. Because we before you s before you register at eCost, we need to we need to receive your high school high school diploma. So I think you can you can apply for the pre-university program because we have the pre-university exam for the fourth semester for the spring semester. So you can after you've you got the final high school grade for you got the high school diploma in October, you can apply for our pre-university program and then prepare for the application for this.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, next is what score level of CSCA maths that you would recommend to achieve for applying bachelor's degree in engineering?

SPEAKER_02

The CICA or mathematics. For the mathematics. To be honest, there uh we still have not we have not decided the the minimum the CIC score requirements for the GD application for the for the application because it's the fourth year for our universities to accept the CSA score. So we need to we have now decided the the score requirements, the CSA score requirements, and we will conduct a comprehensive review of all your application documents, including your high school grades, the the for example the social activities, activity certificates, and also the interview performance.

SPEAKER_00

So interview will be also other qualifications, so be prepared with that.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, that there will be the professors of the different academic schools, they will ask questions about the about the about your chosen majors. So the questions will be related to the chosen the applied majors.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. The next question, should the prospective student apply to ICAS and then be eligible to CSA preparation?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, well during the pre-university in the through the in the pre-university program, we will help our students prepare for the CSA and we design the curriculum. All our teachers have they have they have they have learned about the requirements, the CSA requirements. They have checked the how to say that the uh for example, what will be asked, what will be tested in the CSA. So yes, we'll prepare for the CSA.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, next question. Do you have scholarship for the pre-university program?

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's a good question because I need to check our website. Today, my colleague who is in charge of the pre-un pre-university program, she's not in the in the meeting now, but uh let's check the information on our website. I will also show you the information. So you can check this is the website, and you click here, you can see the so you click the program section, you can find all the programs we we provide for the international students. And see the foundation program, the pre-university program, you can check all the information about the foundation program. We have the English talk and Chinese talk, and the fees information are all published on this website.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. And next question is what's early action and early decision and regular decisions? What is the difference?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it's also a very good question. And we have seen the we have updated that we have published the differences of different different sessions. You can check here because their scholarships opportunities are really limited. Always best students apply earlier to get the to apply for the scholarship. And also, yes, so you can check the difference here. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, okay, guys, if you have other questions, don't worry. You can feel free to open the official website of the ECAS, and then there is also like uh some column that you can fill and ask all of your questionnaires, and then the International School Office from ECAS will answer your questions and get back to you shortly. And yeah, please prepare your applications and be ready to the next step of the selection process to ICAS. And yeah, I will go back to Nadia.

SPEAKER_01
